In the beginning...

Jeremy Poots & Paul Martin formed Mammoth in 2001, just 3 weeks after ‘9/11’ and only 10 months after the Dot Com bubble had burst – not perhaps an ideal time to start a business. However, ten years later with a team of 15 staff in Belfast, major blue-chip clients on their books and another global recession ‘behind them’, they are well placed to move forward and further establish themselves amongst the top agencies in Ireland for the next ten years.

After working for years in various prominent marketing agencies in Belfast, Paul & Jeremy decided that the time was right to offer Irish clients a creative, yet business-oriented alternative to the traditional approach of other Irish design or advertising agencies. Frustrated with the parochial approach to design & advertising in the design industry in many agencies in Ireland generally (ie “hello, would you like me to design your brochure..?”) they wanted to bring a better approach that focused on getting the brand and messages correct first before working out which medium to use afterwards.

And the acquisition of a large FTSE 100 client, Logica Plc, in their first year, to deliver all of their brand/design/digital/ & advertising work (travelling all around the world working with their regional marketing teams) gave Mammoth an excellent platform to grow from.

The complementary skill-sets of the partners - one the strategic thinker, the other the creative inspiration – have shaped the nature of the company to this day. And they still approach each project with the same enquiring eyes and ears that has helped them secure and retain many large and challenging private and public sector clients all over Ireland and beyond.

Paul has over twenty year’s gritty experience working at the heart of the marketing industry in Northern Ireland and beyond. Jeremy’s background before joining the marketing agency world was in aerospace project management where he learnt that deadlines are king and that even the smallest detail is important.
